Newspaper
- Format Columns with Title, and 3 columns. Note that the columns should begin below the title (we don't want the title split into columns)
- Type a total of 8 articles. Three Articles will come from article sheet #1 and Three articles will come from article sheet #2. Two additional articles will be your own. Make sure to include headings for all your articles as well as reporters.
- When writing your own articles, use the inverted pyramid style. You should answer the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How in the first paragraph. Also, be sure to include a good hook at the beginning to catch the interest of the reader.

Online Newspaper
Online Newspapers are becoming more and more popular while printed newspapers are quickly losing popularity. Use Joomag.com to create your own online newspaper. Include articles that other students in computer apps have written. You can access these article on the Class Wiki in eCampus. You can include Images, Audio, and even Video. Pretty cool huh?
Certificate
Your Certificate should:
- Be in Landscape View
- Contain a Page Border
- Use WordArt and ClipArt
- Contain a signature line (in this example the line is under the name of the person receiving the certificate)
- Make sure everything is centered in the document

Calendar
Create a calendar in Microsoft Word
- Document should be in Landscape View
- Document should contain a page border
- Calendar is created using the table function. Insert 7 columns and 7 rows.
- Merge the cells of the first row and insert the month
- Use the shading function on the Tables and Borders toolbar to shade in the days of the week row.
- Highlight 2 or 3 important days of the month
- Use WordArt or an image and stretch it across multiple cells (use the text wrap function to put the WordArt or image in front of text)

PowerPoint Presentation about "ME"
Each slide should contain: A Slide Design; A Slide Animaion (Animation Schemes and/or Custom Animation); An Image; A slide transition. Additional effects of sound (audio or slide narration) and video can be added for extra credit.
Tutorials
Create 3 Different Tutorials in Microsoft PowerPoint. The purpose of the tutorials is to teach how to use tools in Microsoft Word. Use the print screen function to capture the screen in Microsoft word, then paste it into your PowerPoint slide. Use the crop function to cut out any unnecessary parts of the screen capture. Each tutorial should include an explanation of what the tool is used for, and a step by step example of how the tool is used. You should also include an example how how the tool can be used.
Video Tutorials
Use www.screencast-o-matic.com or Jing to create a video tutorial. This is a great way for others to see exactly how to do something!
Learning Style Pie Chart
Follow these steps to create the pie chart:
- Go to www.educationplanner.org. Under the "students" tab, click the option that says "Self-Assessments." Then click on the link that says "What's your learning style?" Answer the 20 questions and record your results in a spreadsheet
- Using the data in your spreadsheet, create a pie chart. Give it a title and include data labels of category name and percentage. You do not need to include the legend since you are including the category name already.
- Copy the pie chart into Microsoft Word and create a table with 3 columns and 2 rows. Refer back to the website to find information about how you learn best according to your learning style and some strategies you could use to help. In this example, The primary learning styles were the Auditory and Visual learning styles (the ones that scored the highest percentage)

Do the following to complete this assignment:
- Keep track of your time for a certain period of time. Record your time in a spreadsheet.
- Using the data in your spreadsheet, create a pie chart. Give it a title and include the data labels of Category Name and Percentage. You do not need to include the legend. You will need to spread the labels out so they do not appear jumbled together on your graph. You may consider changing the font size of the category labels to a smaller size.
- Answer 3 questions about how you spend your time. How did you spend the majority of your time? Are you happy with how you spent your time? Why or why not? and if you could change anything about how you spent your time, what would you change and why?

Step 3: Using the information in your spreadsheet, create 3 charts/graphs: A pie chart showing your income vs. expenses, A pie chart showing your expenses, and a bar or column graph showing your savings. Analyze the graphs and write what the graph is showing and why this information would be important.
Checkbook register
It is important to keep track of what you put into the bank each month and take out of it as well. A checkbook register is a place for you to keep track of these transactions so you always know how much money you have in the bank and so you can keep the bank honest. Create a spreadsheet showing your transactions over the month (refer to your family budget). Use a formula to calculate the balance.
Checks
Create some checks so you can spend your precious money. Use Microsoft Word and create 3 checks. Use the text box function and the line function on the drawing toolbar. Insert a background color, pattern, texture, gradient, or picture in the background of the check.
